We recently started our 6 month old on solids and LOVE these wean green cubes. We have been using these for about two weeks. I've heard so much about them and they totally live up to the hype. We make all of our baby's food at home and freeze them in NUK freezer trays, then once frozen, transfer them into disposable freezer bags. I would not freeze food in these cubes. It's not very efficient if you're making food in bulk because you would need so many! The best way to use these cubes for homemade baby food is for thawing/heating/defrosting and transporting your baby food. Whenever we want to defrost or thaw out a cube, I simply put one into a wean green cube to defrost in the microwave or thaw out in the fridge overnight. I definitely feel better about heating our baby's food in glass rather than plastic. We bring these to daycare for our daughter everyday and do not spill. These are really great quality and worth it for the price. The glass is nice and thick and the lids fit securely on. The colors are cute and they're also great for popping in your bag on-the-go. These cubes are a great for babies just starting on solids. I can imagine us getting bigger wean green storage containers for when our baby is eating more than 4oz at a time. So far we've just purchased this pack of 4 to start out since our baby is just eating once a day and we wash everyday. I could see us potentially purchasing more of these cubes when our baby starts eating more than once a day. So far we have not put these in the dishwasher, but they're super easy to clean by hand.I highly recommend these cubes especially for working parents who need a quality product to prepare, store, and transport their baby food.We bought this for transporting baby food to and from daycare. The seals are airtight and keeps the cold/frozen foods cold from the night before all the way until lunch time. They have taken a tumble and none of them have any chips or scuffs. The best part, they fit 3 Rubbermaid ice cubes perfectly so it makes it fun to mix and match the food you feed your child (applesauce/bananas, strawberry/banana, peas/sweet potato, peas/carrots...). We love these things and they make a great addition to the lunch pail without having to worry about BPA!UPDATE (11/17/13): Our little one is ten months old and we are still using these cubes. We have found out that if you put 3 cubes in, they melt (I put three cubes in around dinnertime and about an hour later, they are melted enough for me to stick a fourth cube in there and then lid it shut) and you can actually add a fourth cube to get 4 cubes of food in there. Our little one was picky with her veggies but we found that if we mix one cube of fruit puree and 3 cubes of veggie puree, the fruit puree masks the veggie taste and she ends up eating it! She HATED peas but we mix her peas with fruit (peaches) and another veggie (zucchini) and she TOTALLY loves it. What I love about these cubes is that you can mix up the ice cubes to cater to your kid's preferences. We usually do: 1 cube fruit (peaches, apple sauce), 1 cube 'neutral' veggie (pear, zucchini, etc) and 2 cubes veggies (french green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, etc). Now that our little one is into textures, we fill 1/3 of the bottom with cut up tofu, boiled lentils, or cut up steamed veggies, etc. and still add pureed ice cubes on top (2 of them) which yields a chunky stew-like mixture by the time she reaches daycare. Now that she eats more, we are using two cubes and as her appetite grows, we'll just keep adding cubes. We love these things! The lids are sturdy, no leaking, and the glassware is very durable!I purchased these over 2 1/2 years ago. I got them because I refused to use plastic (even microwaveable BPA free) in the microwave. I was a paranoid parent I suppose, but still, I went ahead and bought these for all the homemade baby food. My son is 3 years old now and I still use these for dressing, snacks, little left overs, sauces, lemon slices, pats of butter, and fresh herbs. I have put them in the dishwasher (top rack) and I still have no problem with these. I am also accident prone and have dropped a few (or maybe many) on the hardwood without them breaking. I went from freezer to microwave no problem when we used it for baby food. I thought I would have packed these away or given them away, but we continue to use them. They're so convenient. My advice is to skip the little 4 oz sizes though. If you're going to spend the money, just get the 7oz size since babies will out grow that amount of food in no time. I got WAY more use out of the 7oz size. If you stack them inside of each other, don't put any pressure on them. I did get one of them pretty stuck. I don't know what I was thinking. In any case, this is a solid product that I will likely continue to use in my life. Although i still use these 4 oz sized cubes, I get way more use out of the 7's.Fits perfectly in my lunch bag, good portion size, easy to use and clean. I definitely recommend this item.I ordered these for my 5 month old daughter after searching high and low for glass containers to store her food. We have been using these for about 3 weeks now and they have worked out great. The glass is thick and durable and the lids are really tight, which is important to me as these are packed in her baby bag to go to the grandparents and I don't want to have to deal with a mess during transport.I use these with the OXO Tot Baby Food Freezer Tray and these fit 2 frozen "ice cube sized" cubes of mashed food nicely. I think they could fit more, but it would have to be thawed out since the cubes are too hard to smoosh down. As my daughter's tastes expands and she begins to require more meals/snacks we will definitely be purchasing more of these containers, I have started looking at either the 5 or 6 oz sizes so that we can have options to pack her snacks, fruits, and vegetables. These cubes are definitely more pricey than a BPA free plastic option, but I feel really comfortable heating these either in the microwave or placing them in a bowl of hot water to warm up. I also like that I have the option to put them directly in the freezer without worrying about the container breaking.Leak proof. I'm using it for my 6 month year old solids . It's perfectThey are lovely, just very small so that the portion size was only big enough when I first started feeding lo. Using them for other stuff now and they are waterproof and work well but had to buy much larger ones for my hungry baby.Great size as I’ve just started weaning my baby. I’m very happy that they are glass. Fit well in the freezer. These are better than other brands we tried for baby food and now we are hooked on to these. After repeated use, these perform better than both EMSA and lock & lock. Perfect, secure, and easy seals.Love these, easy to use, wash and store. No leaks so far. Good size for weaning portionsI have owned three different sized of Wean Green containers as I totally love their products! Will definitely recommend them! They are very strong and leak free!
