Close bags of pretzels, chips, etc. While it weak j really had anything get stale using it. The magnet on the back falls off too easily. I am sorry I wasted my money.These are not very tight. They fall off of all our bags we use them on.I like a lot about these clips--they are easy to open for my arthritic hands, sized well for chips and similar sized bags, and none of the springs have broken yet--but the magnet on the back has fallen off about half. I liked sticking them on the frig for easy access. Now, they're in a drawer, sometimes buried. But, for their purpose of clipping bags, they're perfect.
